How We Got Here
The story of DogSense is a story of intersections, children’s secrets, family intimacy, and a dream to improve pet care.
The Soccer Sidelines
Our story began on the sidelines of Thornhill Thunder Soccer Club, where our kids played and we coached. Over time, we kept crossing paths season after season.
Two Different Worlds
At that time, Eddie was already running a successful grooming shop in Unionville. Jovan was working in IT and resisting his kids’ constant request for a dog.
The Kids Won!
Eventually, the kids won. And that’s how Jovan ended up at Eddie’s grooming shop, seeking care for their brand new family member.
The Big Questions
From there, conversations evolved — from casual chats to deeper questions about pet care: “What if pet care could be done better? What if we built the place we wish existed?”
The Birth of DogSense
That revolutionary idea became DogSense. Combining Eddie’s grooming expertise with Jovan’s systemized IT perspective to create the perfect pet haven.

Meet the Humans Behind the Scenes
Eddie transitioned from accounting to grooming and discovered his passion in helping dogs look and feel their best. With over a decade of experience, he brings patience, precision, and a calm energy that dogs trust immediately.
A former IT professional and lifelong animal lover, Jovan is now a proud owner of a Portuguese Water Dog who ironically dislikes water. Outside DogSense, he enjoys skiing, soccer, lake time, and occasionally being convinced to get a miniature dachshund.
