FAQ

Is daycare suitable for all dogs?

Not quite. While doggy daycare can be a fantastic outlet for many pups—offering socialization, exercise, and mental stimulation—it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. We evaluate each dog on the following factors and assign a suitable group.

Temperament: Dogs that are naturally social and enjoy the company of other dogs tend to thrive in daycare environments. But shy, anxious, or reactive dogs might find the constant activity overwhelming.

Energy Level: High-energy breeds often benefit from the structured play and stimulation daycare provides. On the flip side, older or more laid-back dogs might prefer a quieter setting.

Training & Obedience: Dogs with basic obedience skills are better equipped to handle group settings safely. If your pup is still learning, we offer training programs to help them adjust.

Health & Age: Puppies can benefit from early socialization, but very young or senior dogs may need special care or shorter stays.

Temperament & Social Skills: Each dog is assessed individually—often through a temperament test—to understand how they interact with people and other dogs. This helps staff place them in a group where they’ll feel confident and safe.

Size: Dogs are typically grouped by size to prevent accidental injuries. A playful Great Dane might unintentionally overwhelm a tiny Yorkie, even with the best intentions.

Play Style: Some dogs love rough-and-tumble games, while others prefer gentle sniff-and-stroll interactions. Matching dogs with similar play styles reduces misunderstandings and stress.

Energy: Level High-energy dogs are grouped together so they can romp without tiring out more mellow pups. This keeps everyone happy and avoids overstimulation.

Reactivity or Special Needs: Dogs with specific triggers—like discomfort around certain breeds or genders—may be placed in smaller groups or offered solo playtime with staff.

Group Size & Supervision: To keep things safe, we maintain a staff-to-dog ratio of about 1:10–15. Smaller groups allow for better supervision and more personalized attention.

Ongoing Monitoring: Dogs change over time! Regular reassessments help ensure each pup stays in the right group as their behavior or preferences evolve.

We use “greeting areas” where dogs can meet one-on-one before joining the larger group—kind of like a doggy handshake zone 🙂

We provide daily report cards on the pup’s stay with us. The report includes the dog’s temperament, their play buddies, bowel movements and of course pics and videos of the cutest moments.

  • A half day of Daycare is a stay of less than 5hrs.
  • A full day of Daycare is a stay of 5hrs or more.
